U.S. stock futures jump overnight as Nasdaq futures are looking higher by nearly 1%, helped by a bounce in semiconductors as Nvidia (NVDA) looks to rebound after shares fell on Monday, its 7th straight decline ahead of earnings tomorrow. Oil prices fall more than 3% to a one-week low as traders shrugged off the latest U.S. sanctions campaign against Iran, viewing economic pressure as posing less risk to oil supplies than a military escalation, while Treasury yields dip. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq ended lower on Monday, pulled down by technology stocks, ahead of Nvidia earnings and a closely watched inflation report where the Fed Jackson Hole meeting takes place on Friday. In Asian markets, The Nikkei Index rose 328 points to 65,856, the Shanghai Index rose 7 points to 3,889, and the Hang Seng Index slipped -6 points to 25,511. In Europe, the German DAX is up over 200 points to 26,319, while the FTSE 100 edges higher 13 points to 10,868. The price of bitcoin, meanwhile, surged above $80,000 for the first time in three months after the Treasury’s intervention in the bond market revived concerns about dollar debasement, sending investors to alternative assets.
