U.S. stocks making new all-time highs as the S&P 500 (SPX) jumps amid broad S&P sector strength as U.S. Treasury yields were lower, easing from multi-decade highs, as oil prices pulled back. U.S. bond yields fell from their highest levels since 2002 as oil prices retreated below $100 a barrel and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent insisted the government’s debt load can be tamed. The U.S. dollar also eased as the euro recovers after French far-right presidential candidate Marine Le Pen promised to reduce the public deficit. Le Pen, who is ahead in opinion polls for next year’s elections, unveiled detailed plans of a 140 billion euro package of spending cuts and tax rises. The euro rises 0.2% to $1.1244 after reaching a 16-month low of $1.1160 Monday, while the dollar index (DXY) falls 0.2% to 102.004 after hitting a near 18-month high of 102.535 Monday. In stock news, MRVL shares jump after providing guidance at its Investor Day, interest rate sensitive names modest bounce on yield easing, AI trade still leading tech and broader markets with semis rising and sectors like consumer discretionary and REITs looking to snap multi week consecutive losses. Oil dropped over 2% as rising Middle Eastern crude exports and a G7 emergency stockpile release eased supply concerns, though lingering security risks in the region capped further losses. Smallcaps only notable weakness on the day as Russell 2000 slips.
