U.S. stocks may have finished lower on Thursday, but Friday is shaping up to be a strong day after good earnings results overnight in tech, as investors turn their attention to the closely watched July employment situation report at 8:30 am et where 80,000 nonfarm payrolls are expected to be added. Shares of software companies TEAM, FROG, TWLO are all up over 15% in the software sector after results, while other tech companies like NET, MCHP, AKAM are also soaring double digit percent after their results. Precious metals are looking strong, adding to weekly gains with gold rising 1.6% to $4,360 and silver outperforms up over 3%. The 2-year Treasury yield was little changed at 4.25%, the benchmark 10-year Treasury yield was flat at 4.68%, and the 30-year Treasury yield was unchanged at 5.22%. In Asian markets, The Nikkei Index fell -76 points to 65,606, the Shanghai Index rose 39 points to 3,940, and the Hang Seng Index gained 137 points to 25,668. In Europe, the German DAX is rising 194 points to 26,334, while the FTSE 100 adds 62 points to 10,929. All eyes on the jobs data at 8:30 while US futures look to build on weekly gains after a massive run to start the week. Global bond funds attracted $23 billion this week, driven by strong demand for US high-yield debt. US bond inflows jumped to $17.8 billion from $7.9 billion last week, while Canadian and eurozone government bonds also saw solid demand. Meanwhile, global equity inflows slowed sharply to $32.9 billion, down from $63.7 billion the previous week.
